A Heat Interface Unit transfers heat from the development's communal network into the individual apartment for heating and hot water. Servicing establishes how the unit is operating in its installed condition: how it responds to demand, how the plate heat exchanger is performing, and how the controls, valves and actuators are behaving under load.

Servicing is carried out as a structured assessment rather than a checklist. Findings are recorded so that any further technical work is proposed on measured evidence, not assumption.

Where a unit is not performing as expected, technical diagnostics establish the cause before any component is changed. Temperature, pressure and flow behaviour are measured at the unit and compared against how the system should respond.

Diagnosis of a heat interface unit cannot be completed remotely or by description. An engineer attends, measures the system in its installed condition and reports what has been found.

Commissioning sets the unit to operate correctly within its network: control settings, temperature limits and flow conditions are configured and then verified in operation. Commissioning is also used after component replacement or where a unit has been installed or altered by others.

The performance of an HIU depends on the components around it as much as the unit itself. Servicing and diagnostics extend to the associated equipment within the apartment and its connection to the wider network.

A dedicated HIU technical service is charged at £225 + VAT. General technical attendance across heating, cooling, ventilation and water is charged at £180 + VAT per hour. All attendance is paid in full before attendance. Parts, specialist components, materials and additional works are charged separately and advised before proceeding.
