MVHR provides continuous supply and extract ventilation with heat recovery between the two air streams. It operates constantly and its performance degrades quietly, which makes scheduled servicing the point at which condition is actually established.

Servicing covers the unit, its filters, the heat recovery cell, condensate arrangements and the controls, with the operating condition recorded.

• Unit condition and mounting

Airflow is measured rather than assumed. Where supply or extract rates are below what the system should deliver, the cause is traced through filters, fan operation, the heat recovery cell, ductwork condition and terminal valves.

Heat recovery performance depends on the cell being clean and the two air paths being correctly separated and balanced.

Control configuration determines how the system behaves day to day: continuous rate, boost response, humidity control where fitted, and summer bypass operation. Settings are verified in operation, not only at the interface.

Where noise, condensation or ventilation performance is reported, an engineer attends and assesses the installed system. This is technical work and is not carried out by instruction over the telephone.
